Similar rallies have been organized in many areas of Indonesia on Monday. Several demonstrations are taking place in South Sulawesi, West Java. Raising their voice against inflation, Indonesian students marched to Parliament and fiercely opposed the second term of the President. Meanwhile, Jakarta Police Chief Fadil Imran said that a university professor who took part in the demonstration suffered serious injuries. He was attacked by a non-student group. Six police personnel who came forward to help him were also injured.

Violence is expected to escalate during Ramadan as four Palestinians have been killed in the past 24 hours. In recent weeks, Palestinian bombers killed 14 Israelis in Israel.
