UPI payment users will increase
According to RBI, after the credit card is linked to UPI, the number of users making UPI payments may increase. At present, the facility of UPI payment is available on Debit Card. Meaning if you have a savings account or a current account, then you can link the UPI payment with the help of a debit card. But soon this facility will be available to credit card users.
Initially you will be able to link Rupay card with UPI
RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has approved the proposal to allow credit cards to be linked with UPI during the monetary policy review meeting. However, during this time he made it clear that initially the Rupay Credit Card issued by the Reserve Bank of India National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) will get the facility to link UPI. Shaktikanta Das said that the new system will make it easier for customers to make payments through the UPI platform. Das said that in May 594.63 crore transactions worth Rs 10.40 lakh crore were done in UPI transactions.
