Australia tour changed the fate of Pant, decided the journey from playing XI to captaincy in 2 years

The evolution of Rishabh Pant: Mature, settled and possibly future captain ... There was a time, a year and a half ago, when Rishabh Pant felt ...
Rishabh Pant is leading the Indian team in the series against South Africa. He was not even a part of the Indian team's playing XI in the Adelaide Test 2020 and now within 2 years he has completed his journey to become the captain.

Rishabh Pant, 24, was the captain of the Indian team after KL Rahul got injured just ahead of the 5-match T20I series against South Africa. After getting the captaincy, Pant expressed happiness and said that even though I have got the captaincy in adverse conditions, but I will try to give my hundred percent. The journey from making a place in the team to becoming the captain was not easy for Rishabh Pant, but the tour of the Indian team to Australia changed everything for Pant.

Wasn't Part of The Team in the Adelaide Test

Rishabh Pant was also not part of the team in the Adelaide Test against Australia. At that time he was running out of the ODI and T20 team as well but what happened after that was nothing short of a miracle. Pant got a chance to play after Wriddhiman Saha was injured in the Pink Test. He made a comeback for Team India with his batting in the Sydney and Brisbane Tests and was instrumental in winning the series 2-1.

Pant's Magic Worked in Sydney and Brisbane

Pant may have struggled in the Melbourne Test, scoring only 29 runs off 40 balls, but in the first Sydney Test, his marathon innings of 97 played a vital role in saving the Test, then his aggressive style was seen in Brisbane and scored 89 runs. His unbeaten innings helped India win the 4-match series 2-1 as India won the match by 3 wickets. This tour is also seen as the biggest comeback by a team.

Pant's Role in The 2-1 Win in The Historic Series

Out of the team in the first Test, Pant was the highest run-scorer for India after the series. He scored 274 runs in 5 innings in that series at an average of 68.50. According to Pant, the tour of Australia was the turning point of his life. After that tour, Pant did not look back and first captained Delhi Capitals in IPL and now he got the opportunity to lead the Indian team.
