Sri Lanka, which is in financial crisis, has asked for a loan of five and a half million dollars from India for the purchase of urea. The cabinet has approved this proposal. It has been told by the Government of Sri Lanka that India has agreed to give the said amount through the Import-Export Bank. On the other hand, according to news agency ANI, Sri Lanka's Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has also sought India's help for food security and environmental protection.

Constitution change in Sri Lanka delayed for seven days
