In the famous Vismaya dowry death case of Kerala, the Additional Sessions Court in Kollam on Tuesday sentenced the accused husband Kiran Kumar to 10 years imprisonment. He was convicted by the court on Monday.
Kiran Kumar was earlier posted as Additional Vehicle Inspector in the State Motor Vehicles Department. Vismaya V Nair was a medical student. She was found dead on 21 June 2021 in Kollam.

Vismaya V Nair (22), an understudy of Ayurvedic medication, was found dead under secretive conditions at Kiran Kumar's home in Kollam on 21 June 2021. Following this episode, Kumar was excused from administration. In September, he was charged under different segments, including Section 304-B of the IPC. In the 500-page charge sheet that was documented, it was informed that Vismaya passed on from self destruction because of settlement provocation.

Court canceled Kumar's bail
The court had also canceled Kumar's bail and sent him to judicial custody. After this, while hearing the case on Tuesday, the court sentenced him to 10 years in prison.
