It was told by the emergency clinic that the patients were emptied from the impacted wards and moved to more secure wards.


J Radhakrishnan, Chief Health Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, said, "Every one of the patients were cleared securely. There was a fire in one of the old structure, three new squares are protected. Up to this point no harm has been accounted for in this mishap.


According to hospital officials, 33 patients were safely evacuated from the affected wards. Tamil Nadu Health Minister Mr. Subramanian (Ma. Subramanian) reached the hospital and took stock. He said, 'The patients have been evacuated safely. No one was injured in the fire incident. This could be due to further electricity leakage. State Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan said that firefighters were sent to control the situation. Also, the oxygen cylinders present in the hospital were removed so that the fire did not spread further.
