OTT and theaters are out again, the people nominated at the Critics' Choice Awards discussed

OTT platforms grew across the globe and exposed the diversity of content empowering the artists and technicians of the entertainment industry. Talking about the choices audiences are making for content consumption, Anupama Chopra, President, Film Critics Guild spoke about the visible change in entertainment with OTT, the theatrical experience, the process of filmmaking and actors for a variety of roles. The people present discussed how the selection is done.


Anupama Chopra was joined by Critics' Choice Awards nominees like Chaitanya Tamhane, Adarsh ​​Gaurav, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Jio Baby and Raj B Shetty for the discussion. The discussion mainly shed light on what 2022 means for the entertainment business. The people present also emphasized that the experience of watching content has changed with the 'OTT platform'.


Chaitanya Tamhane, who was nominated under the 'Best Director' category for his Netflix drama, 'The Disciple', when asked, spoke about the impact and options available to the audience. Chaitanya Tamhane says “When the pandemic hit us I was worried about the medium of work change, but I also realized that it could be an opportunity and the audience would see content that piqued their interest. This was new to us and as a filmmaker I took it as an opportunity to entertain my audience."

Raj B Shetty, nominated under the 'Best Director' category for Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vaahan, says, "I write fresh and new content which may be bad or good, hit or flop but it should be a new film. To present it. I don't write thinking of what the medium will be, I write as a writer to present the character."


Held on 10 March 2022, the Critics' Choice Awards were celebrated with much fanfare by artists, content and technicians from Indian languages ​​at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, Mumbai.
