Lucknow: Delhi need to win for third wicket

Delhi Capitals will take on Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL today. Today's victory is inevitable for Delhi, who lost to renewed Gujarat in the last match. Australian opener David Warner, who was absent from the first matches, and South African pacer Andrich Northage are likely to step down. The match will be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai at 7.30 pm.

No team has gotten off to a significant start in the new season. All the teams except Gujarat lost one match each. Newcomer Lucknow is performing average. Delhi, on the other hand, managed to win only one match. The team's net run rate is not good either. In any case, Rishabh Pant's Delhi must win this match. The focus needs to be on ball captaincy.

Warner's arrival boosts Delhi's confidence. With captain Rishabh Pant and Prithviraj joining hands with Lalit Yadav, there is no worry in batting. If Nortje and Mustafizur Rahman rise to the occasion, the bowling will be strong. Lucknow has won two matches in a row. Captain Rahul and Deco are in good form. Evin Lewis and Deepak Hooda score runs. The absence of a good foreign pace bowler is a bit of a concern.
